This weeks activities involved the mapping of a basic object in maya, I have already done this before so I skipped the initial tutorials and moved onto the main activity for the week. This being the mapping of the box I had to make in a previous weeks activities.

The image above shows an example of me UV mapping the cork of a bottle I made for the theme group assignment.

To complete this weeks activity, I watched the provided video tutorial on Canvas and downloaded the provided box as mine wasn’t well made enough for me to UV it.

To make it easier and cleaner when texturing, the texel levels were changed so that the UVs were of similar sizes.

I used the stitch together tool to combine UVs on the handle of the box to make it easier when texturing as they are part of the same surface.

Finaly, I used layout to organise the shells and then increased the shell padding to make them more organised.
