As the thumbnail for my game ‘Slime Fight’, I created some pixel art of a slime on a grassy background.
I created the image in photoshop using the pencil tool at various sizes. I believe that, as one of my first pieces of pixel art, that the image is good. The background needs more work as it is extremely plain. I could improve this by adding various shades of green to the grass to add the illusion of elevation and cast shadows. I could also add a light source so that shadows could be plausibly added to the image.
The slime itself could use more detail as well. I could add various shades of blue as well as an outline of some sort to make it stand out more from the background.
