While creating a landscape in the lab session today, I got to a point where I was a bit confused and didn’t really know what I should do. This is when I realized that I haven’t been doing the proper set up before the creation. I would jump into the program and instantly start building a level or molding a landscape without doing prior research. The ideas I would use were purely from my mind and, not knowing enough about level design yet, they were all quite bad.
Today I wanted to make a level inspired by Call of Duty Zombies. I looked up some images on Google and started making the level instantly. I hadn’t looked for inspiration regarding level layout or which colours I would use in the level. Due to this, I got to a point in the creation of the level where I couldn’t continue as I had little to no inspiration.
Having now realized this, I will be doing more research and fleshing out of ideas before jumping into Unreal.
