In today’s lab session, I rigged a character model.
I started by adding joints from the toe to the top of the leg, with one join being placed above the crotch. I changed the size of the joints so that they would be easier to work with as they were too large before I had changed them.
I named each joint, including an L_ before them so that it could be used a tag for mirroring. I then mirrored the hip leg joint.
I then added joints all the way down the arm from the clavicle to the end of each finger. I named these the same way as the leg and then mirrored them.
After this I added a spine all the way up the back to the top of the head and connected the hip to the bottom and the clavicles to the mid section of the spine.
Once all joints were connected, I added IK handles to the arms and legs. I then used bind skin to attach the rig to the character.
