By tracing frames from this clip Dragon Ball Super: Broly (2018), I have created a guide for animating my character. This animation shows a character warming up before a fight. I thought this appropriate for my character as they are a fighter themselves.
I will be altering the movements and camera work in the sequence as not to plagiarize the work.
Although I have traced over various sections of the animation, I believe I will only be using the section showing the full body. This is because I don’t know how to switch between cameras during the animation sequence and don’t know what problems will arise when it comes to rendering.
When used, I believe this guide will also allow me to demonstrate multiple examples of the principles of animation. The first of them being staging. As the character will be in a single position jumping up and down the camera will be placed facing the front of the character. This will allow the viewer to see all elements of the sequence. The next principle is pose-to-pose. As I have chosen key poses through the video the animation will be pose-to-pose rather than straight ahead action. Another principle that will be shown is follow though. As the character jumps up in the air during the sequence, they will come back down to the ground. Overlapping actions will also be shown with the character moving their arms and wrists at the same time as jumping or landing. Timing will also be a principle shown as when the character jumps, they will fall back down in a realistic amount of time.
