This post will document the initial planning of my animation for Visual FX and Post Production.

To plan out the animation I drew a storyboard. I drew out the key point of the animation, annotating them to include camera motion and VFX in the frame.

The animation is inspired by fighting titles such as Injustice 2 (2017).

To plan out this animation I have, again, drawn out a storyboard for the animation. This animation begins with an introduction to the stage, a large name of the stage is shown over the top of the stage. The camera then cuts to a birds eye view of Fighter 1 walking up to their position on the stage. Once Fighter 1 is in place, the camera tilts down to the fighter striking a pose, a bolt of lightning strikes in the background. The camera then pans around to show Fighter 2 walking to their position on the stage. Once Fighter 2 is in place, the camera will cut to a wide shot of the stage showing both fighters. A countdown will begin to the start of the fight, this is displayed as large numbers on screen. A bolt of lightning strikes the center of the stage as the countdown lowers.

After drawing the storyboard out on paper, I then drew it again digitally. I have altered a few elements of the animation as I found them more fitting. The first change I made is the environment. As I want it to rain with thunder and lightning, I changed the environment to a grassy location with hills. I found this more fitting than a desert as rain wouldn’t fit. I kept the road running through the middle of the location.
