This post will detail research into the architect Frank Lloyd Wright and the prairie style of architecture.

Frank Lloyd Wright was an architect that specialized in organic architecture. This is the practice of creating architecture “which sought to integrate humans, architecture and nature together so that each one would be improved by the relationship” (Britannica, 2019)

Prairie architecture is a style that “should reflect and pay homage to the environment around it” (Thomann, 2022). The style has key characteristics that make it stand out. Specific characteristics include sequestered gardens, gardens which help the environment around them, gently sloping roofs, heavy set chimneys, ribbon windows and overhangs. The structures heavily utilize horizontal lines.
