This post will cover the story boarding of my digital story.
As my story will be presented in the form of a digital comic, I story boarded it. This helps me better plan out the comic as I can see if certain elements of the script would fit the format and alter them if not.
After planning out the first four pages, I roughly sketched them in my sketchbook. The panels show the characters Ben and Jessica walking up to Old Man Samuel’s house, entering and finding his diary. As I haven’t yet designed the characters, I used placeholder sketches and stick people in the places they would be.
After finishing the draft for the script, I moved to drawing out the storyboards digitally. The storyboards are extremely rough as they are just guidance for when I draw the final versions. The character designs had not been finalized while I was creating the story boards so faces may change slightly or be completely different each time. The story boards are only a guide for myself so I didn’t believe it mattered as long as I understood who they were.
Chapter 1 storyboards-
Chapter 2 storyboards-
Chapter 2 is being edited constantly so the story boards shown may not be similar at all to the final version. The design of Samuel and the employee had not been designed while chapter 2 was being story boarded so the face of Samuel may change throughout.
