This post will cover the lab content covering lighting in Unreal.
The content for this weeks lab covered lighting in Unreal Engine. I had to build two rooms and light them differently.
I built the room by placing a cube then placing a subtractive cube on the inside. I then added materials to the inside and placed a few starter content props within. After that I placed point lights within the wall lamps and a point light within the ceiling lamp.
For the first room, I tweaked the attributes of the lights. Changing the colours to a harsh blue/white. I also raised the intensity to make the lights harsher. This gave the room a more sinister tone.
For the second room, I deleted all but one of the wall lamps and then relocated the remaining. I changed the colour of the lights to a warmer orange and reduced the intensity of them. I also altered the placement and attenuation radius of the spotlight so that it covered a bit more of the table and floor. This resulted in a more calming atmosphere when looking at the room.
