This post will show the concepts for the various characters in my digital comic.
After deciding to create my characters in the style of One, I drew out some concepts. I feel like I strayed slightly from the style but I am a fan of the characters. Although they aren’t the final designs, I am happy with them as they convey far more emotion than the characters I attempted to draw in the style of Junji Ito.
Early sketches of the characters for my digital comic. When drawing them, I attempted to draw expressions that would fit the characters rather than blank expressions. I did this as when previously trying to design characters, they would look extremely bland with completely blank expressions.
I then tried different hairstyles on the faces. Ben’s is completely different, spikier to better fit his personality. Jessica’s is a more refined version of the style I tried initially.
